Wedding News

Actually, there isn’t really any. We’re at the point where we have booked the venue, paid the deposits and chosen roughly what we want. We have lots to do, but nothing we can really do just yet.

At the end of September, we applied for our marriage authority certificate which we had to obtain from our local register office. We were each interviewed separately and asked a few questions about each other, I was so nervous I had to have two goes at my husband to be’s date of birth! We were then seen together. Our notice of marriage was subsequently put on public display at the register office for 15 days and then sent to Newton Abbot who will be officiating at our wedding.

We phoned Newton Abbot this week and they have received all relevant paperwork, so it’s all systems go.

The scariest thing I have to think about next is what I’m going to wear and how the hell I’m going to choose it!

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
