Follow-Up from Last Eye Hospital Appointment

I returned to the hospital to have another go with the lens. Still no luck. The optometrist who I saw tried to put the lens in for me and couldn’t do it. She found someone with more experience who got it in. It certainly made a difference. It took away all the refracted rubbish that I see. I was able to see large objects around the room as well as the sheen on Jasmine’s coat. Not a lot many would say but it would make such a difference to me.

Not sure what the next step is but I do know it’s frustrating. There is a lens there with my name on it which actually benefits me but I can’t get the thing into my eye!

The ironic thing is that I can’t get the lens in probably because I can’t see to do it! If anyone has any non-visual tips for putting in a large hard lens, I’d be more than happy to hear them!

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
