I’ve kept quiet about Mikey for long enough. I wanted to see how he settled in and give him a fair chance. But, I can honestly say, that if he comes up for the public vote, I’ll gladly pay to vote to help get him out before he damages the reputation of blind people any further.
Like it or not, most people don’t know any blind people, so if one hits the media spot light, we’re all going to be compared with that person.
I’ve already been asked at work if I’d be like Mikey in unfamiliar surroundings. The answer is a categorical no.
he’s made very little effort in that house. After three weeks he’s starting to look decidedly scruffy and dirty and people are assuming this is because he doesn’t have a carer with him. Well, most of us don’t have carers but we don’t allow ourselves to deteriorate in this way.
At every turn he’s playing the blind card to get him out of doing things. He really should think about the image he’s portraying.
Sadly he’s not up for eviction. There’s always hope for next week though.
