My partner works for a major charity for blind and deafblind people, running a very successful and efficient transcription service.
However, in recent months, his managers have for whatever reason decided to run this service down by not allowing my partner to search for new business and not making the resources available for this to be done.
To me this is scandalous. With the DDA as it stands now there is more need than ever for transcribed materials and with the correct advertising and awareness this service could be very busy. Instead they are threatening redundancy to a very experienced and motivated blind person.
The managers concerned want stringing up and one in particular would have a real shock if they ever had to go out into the real world.
I hope they one day also face redundancy and have to transfer their hugely inadequate skills.
