January

Well, January is well on its way out and I haven’t posted to this journal since November I realise. So here’s a summary of what’s been happening.
Went to a couple of cracking concerts in December: War of the Worlds at the NEC which was fabulous. Justin Hayward sounds the same as he always did and the music and special effects were spectacular.

Then there was Crowded House at Nottingham Arena. I wasn’t sure about going to see them as I haven’t actually listened to them for a while, but they are just wonderful live and made me want to rush home and get out all my crowded house albums again.

Christmas all went well and a two week break from work was just what I needed before having to be re-interviewed for my job at the beginning of this month. I got the job, not an achievement really, but more of a hollow victory, but at least I can apply for other jobs in my own time and it hasn’t been forced upon me.

The Cowes Tandoori sent me a further cheque for £150 wit no letter or compliment slip attached, which implies that they want no further dialogue with me.
Fine by me, but lets hope they allow guide dogs into their restaurant in the future.

Possible development with my partner and a job at Nottingham Royal Society for the Blind, which could bring him to Nottingham to live. Fingers crossed!

Three weeks then its off for a week for a relaxing break in the Lake District I hope!

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
