Long Weekend in Torquay

Just back from a long weekend in Torquay for a hen weekend. We were there from Thursday to Sunday, staying at the Paramount Imperial Hotel. At £90 a night for bed and breakfast, plus £12 a night to park the car, I personally think that the prices were not justified. The service was slow and the staff weren’t particularly friendly. Also lots of Eastern European staff who did not speak much English

We took the ferry over to Brixham on Friday and walked out to Berry head which was a lovely walk although a little blowy. On Friday evening we ate at the Cava Bar in Torquay which was very enjoyable. Good Tapas and very reasonably priced.

On Saturday we walked to Babbacombe and visited Angels Cafe on the sea front for a cream tea. Well worth it. Home made scones, choice of jams and loads of clotted cream. The other food available also looked very appetising and home made. In my opinion, worth a visit to Babbacome just to go there!!

In the evening we ate at the hotel and again, I don’t think it was special. Expensive, not much choice and not much food.

All in all though, a very pleasant and relaxing weekend with good company.
