Mutual Friends – What a Disaster!

Was reading back over previous entries and realise that I never updated this journal on how I got on with the Mutual Friends website. Well, it was an absolute disaster.

I think I made contact with about 8 people in all and seemed to get on well enough in an Email sort of way. I didn’t mention that I am blind in my profile, but did mention that I have a dog.

After chatting to these 8 people for a while and getting to know them a little, I dropped the fact that I am blind into the conversation. Every single one of them stopped writing after that. One even went as far as to say that he thought I was sick for trying to befriend people in that way and that there should be sites just for people like me.

So, my membership has lapsed …

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
