The campaign for a general EU disability directive (which would be sort of an EU equivalent to the DDA and would ensure that disability issues are considered across EU policy) is gathering force and its petition is officially launched today.

The signature campaign aims to collect at least 1 000 000 citizens’ signatures to combat discrimination in all aspects of the lives of disabled citizens in Europe. The UK needs to collect at least 160,000 to reach its share of the total. Further details will follow but in the meantime, please click on the following link http://www.1million4disability.eu/sign.asp?langue=EN to sign the petition asap.

Please also pass on to contacts/friends/family etc.

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
