I have one amusing story taken from my many phonecalls regarding change of address etc. This call was to BT to ask for a new phone number. The first time I called I was given a few possible numbers and was invited to choose one, which I did. I was told however, that I wouldn’t necessarily be guaranteed that number.

A couple of days after arriving here, Iwas still not connected up to the phone system, so called again to ask why this had not happened. It was eventually sorted out for me and I asked what my phone number would be!

Get this! They couldn’t let me have my own phone number as I have chosen not to have it listed in the directory! Even though I’d answered all my security questions, and provided details of the most communly dialed numbers by me, BT refused to give me my pwn phone number.

Once the phone was connected, I had to call my mobile to find out my own number!

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
