A Long Overdue Update

Well I’m aware, if anyone is reading this, that I rather left things up in the air with my last entry. A lot has happened since that Tuesday, but I am glad to say that I have moved house.

There were further contract problems with my husband, and on the Wednesday morning of that week, I had a call whilst travelling to Bristol to visit the family, to say that he had not borrowed enough money to cover his purchase. I had a very stressful couple of days, even resorting to phoning my husband’s solicitor and financial adviser, neither of these calls made me very popular.

The contracts were at last exchanged on the Friday for the move the following Wednesday, 5th April. It was all systems go for a few days to get the packing finished. However, with help from my parents, we managed to be very organised. Moving day went very smoothly, completion took place at 10:30 am and by 2:30 pm we’d moved and the removal people had left.

Since then I have been busy with my parents unpacking and sorting things in the new house. They have finally gone back home this evening and will be going to France on Wednesday.

Now its just a case of getting settled here and adjusting to my new life. I love the house and people around here seem very friendly, much more so than they were in East Leake. The best bit is the ten minute walk to work, rather than the hour and a half commute.

About Mel Griffiths

I live and work in Nottingham, England and am blind. This blog is often centred around things that happen to me because of being blind. This is my space to write and sometimes people will disagree with what I write, but its the one place I have in which to be frank and honest. I also like to reflect on the funnier side of life from time to time.
